The SEA LIFE TRUST Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, Cornwall, is a charity that rescues and rehabilitates grey seal pups from around the Cornish coastline.

Each season (September - March), the Sanctuary rehabilitates over 70 seal pups that have been rescued for various reasons, from injury and malnourishment, to being separated from their mum due to storms or human disruption., providing them with expert veterinary care and nurses them back to full health before releasing them back into the wild. Each pup costs around £2,000 on average to rehabilitate, and that doesn’t include special cases such as pups who need surgery or have ongoing medical issues.

The Sanctuary also provides a permanent home to a number of resident animals that need special care from our team of marine animal experts, including seals, sea lions, penguins and beavers. When visiting the Sanctuary, you can experience these wonderful marine mammals up close and personal and learn all about their individuals stories, characters and how you can help to combat issues such as plastic pollution and marine mammal disturbance.

We are a dog-friendly site who loves to meet your pooches! We also have an on-site cafe and food kiosks, along with a lovely giftshop for those all important souvenirs and gifts! We are open daily from 10am until 5pm during the summer months (last entry at 4pm) and 11am until 4pm (last entry 3pm) during the winter.
